Lubavitch Junior Boys School

Pastoral at LPBS

Rationale
Lubavitch Primary Boys' School is committed to the well-being of all its pupils. As such, the school has a dedicated Pastoral Lead (Mrs R. Poolat), who plays a pivotal role in fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment. Mrs Poolat’s work recognises the profound impact that emotional and social development can have on a pupil’s overall success.
From the very start of the school day, our Pastoral Leader is working with families, to make sure their boys are ready to come in, ready and happy to learn. One of our Pastoral Lead’s key responsibilities involves creating a safe space for pupils to express themselves openly and seek guidance when needed. Mrs Poolat actively engages with pupils on a personal level, developing strong relationships built on trust and understanding. Mrs Poolat’s approach addresses not only academic challenges but also the emotional and social aspects of each pupil. She is always ready to lend a listening ear and provide the support necessary for pupils to navigate the complexities of school life and growing up.
Mrs Poolat collaborates closely with parents, teachers, senior leaders and other staff to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive approach to pastoral care. Within her role, Mrs Poolat leads and/or has arranged a number of school pastoral interventions
All of this work contributes to the overall well-being of the school community. Mrs Poolat dedicates herself to the pastoral care aspect of education, which plays a vital role in creating an environment where pupils not only thrive academically but also develop the skills and resilience needed for a successful and fulfilling life beyond the classroom.
